Caracterización de niños y adolescentes hipertensos del área de salud Alcides Pino de Holguín

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo con el objetivo de caracterizar a los hipertensos de las edades de 1 a 14 años pertenecientes al área de salud Alcides Pino Bermúdez en el período de enero a septiembre de 2009. La población estuvo constituida por 1520 niños y adolescentes de las edades de 1 a 14 años. Se diagnosticaron como hipertensos, de acuerdo con la tablas de referencia de la SecondT ask Forceon Blood Pressure in Childrend and Adolescents (EE.UU)⁷, aquellos cuyas cifras tensionales sistólicas o diastólicas fueran iguales o mayores del 95 percentil para edad, sexo y talla, y registradas por lo menos en tres ocasiones diferentes. La muestra quedó representada por 37 personas con la finalidad de caracterizar la enfermedad en nuestro medio y así poder aportar en su conocimiento, diagnóstico y seguimiento. La hipertensión arterial fue más frecuente en el sexo femenino, en las edades de 11 a 14 años. Predominaron los pacientes de la raza blanca eutróficos y los antecedentes personales y familiares de hipertensión arterial.

ABSTRACT

A descriptive study to describe hypertensive children, from 1 to 14 years old, from AlcidesPino Health Area from January to September, 2009 was performed. The sample was represented by 1520 children and teenagers, from 1 to 14 years old. They were diagnosed as hypertensive according to the Second Task Force on Blood Pressure in Children and Adolescents Reference Tables, those with high systolicand/or diastolictension numbers were equal or higher than 95 percentage according to age, sex, and height and registered , at least, in three times. The sample was represented by 37 persons with the objective to characterize the illness in its own environment and to contribute in its understanding, diagnose, and follow- up. The arterial hypertension is more frequent in women, between 11 to 14 years. White eutrophic patients prevailed together with personal and family past history with arterial hypertension.
