Infección bucal por el virus herpes simple tipo 1

Abstract

Se describieron las principales características de la infección por el virus herpes simple tipo 1, sobre todo a nivel de la boca, se enfatizó en la replicación viral, la patogénesis, las manifestaciones clínicas, los mecanismos inmunitarios, las vías de transmisión, el diagnóstico, el tratamiento farmacológico y no farmacológico de la infección viral.

ABSTRACT

The main features of infection with type 1 herpes simplex virus was described, especially in the mouth. Viral replication, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, immune mechanisms, ways of transmission, diagnosis and pharmacological and nonpharmacological treatment of viral infection were analized.

Key words:  herpes labialis, herpes simplex, acute herpetic gingivitis, latency.
