Caracterización clínico epidemiológica de la hipertensión arterial en el adulto mayor del área de Mayarí
Abstract
Se realizó un estudio descriptivo en 30 adultos mayores hipertensos de la Casa de los Abuelos del área de salud de Mayarí durante el primer semestre de 2009. Predominaron los pacientes de 71 a 80 años del sexo masculino y piel blanca. El consumo de café fue el factor de riesgo modificable principal. La cardiopatía isquémica sobresalió como patología asociada. La mayor cantidad de pacientes presentaron hipertensión arterial grado II.

ABSTRACT
A descriptive study in 30 elderly patients with high blood pressure of the Nursing House of Mayarí area during the first semester of 2009 was peformed. The sample comprised 30 patients that represented the total ones with hypertension. The white male patients between 71 and 80 years prevailed. The coffee consumption was the modification risk factor of highest incidence. The ischaemic heart disease was the most associated disease. The highest number off patients had degree II hypertension.
