The need to establish a physical space for the teaching and application of obstetric psychoprophylaxis, with the purpose of strengthening the academic and practical training of students of Obstetrics, is an essential element in the comprehensive care of pregnant women. The objective of this study is the implementation of the technique of Obstetric Psychoprophylaxis and prenatal stimulation at the Universidad Autónoma Regional de Los Andes. Currently, the Obstetrics career at UNIANDES lacks a specific area for the simulation of these techniques, unlike other higher education institutions that already have these spaces. To support this proposal, a retrospective bibliographic, qualitative and field research has been carried out, whose data present a high degree of reliability. In Ecuador, as in other Latin American countries, culturally appropriate childbirth care has been implemented in rural areas with positive results in reducing maternal and infant morbidity and mortality and improving the well-being of the mother-child pair. Its implementation would ensure better preparation of future professionals, promoting equitable conditions of competence in the workplace.
