Diagnóstico anatomopatológico de los tumores gliales en pacientes del Hospital Lucía Iñiguez Landín

Resumen

Este trabajo abordó un estudio descriptivo donde fueron analizados, por los métodos de Scraching y biopsia por parafina, los pacientes con diagnósticos de tumores gliales, con el objetivo de contribuir al conocimiento del comportamiento de la enfermedad en Holguín. Se distribuyeron 60 pacientes según: edad, sexo, tipo de tumor y sus localizaciones. Los resultados obtenidos por los métodos de Scraching y biopsia como positivos, negativos, falsos positivos, falsos negativos fueron evaluados al determinar la sensibilidad, el valor predictivo positivo y el valor predictivo negativo, la especificidad y la eficiencia. Los tumores gliales que más se reportaron fueron los astrocitomas; el sexo femenino fue el más afectado y la mayoría de los casos se observaron en los grupos de edades de 40 a 59. La localización más frecuente fue a nivel de los hemisferios cerebrales. El diagnóstico por Scraching y biopsia coincidió en la mayoría de los casos.

ABSTRACT

A descriptive study in patients with Glial tumors was carried out. Scraching's methods and paraffin biopsy were used. The objective of this research was to assess the behavior of this disease in Holguín. Sixty patients were distributed according to age, sex, type of tumor and its locations. The results obtained by scraching's methods and biopsy like positive, negative, positive false, negative false were evaluated when determining the sensibility, the predictive positive value and the predictive negative value, the specificity and efficiency. Astrocytoma represented the most common glial tumors reported, being the female sex the most affected one as well as, the age group between 40 to 59 years. The location of cerebral hemispheres was the most frequent one. The diagnosis by scraching and biopsy corresponded with most of the cases.
