Avances y revisión histórica del Síndrome de Ballantyne: perspectivas clínicas y epidemiológicas

Ballantyne syndrome, a rare entity associated with severe abdominal complications, has been the subject of research in recent decades due to its insidious clinical presentation and difficulty in diagnosis. This literature review explores its historical evolution and recent advances in its understanding, including the identification of risk factors, differential diagnosis, and treatment options. Despite advances in research, challenges remain in its management, especially with regard to early identification and personalization of treatment. The most recent contributions in epidemiological studies that shed light on the prevalence of the disease and its public health implications are highlighted. In conclusion, a comprehensive understanding of Ballantyne syndrome requires a combination of multidisciplinary approaches and advances in diagnostic technologies.
