Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is one of the most common endocrine disorders in women of reproductive age, characterized by menstrual irregularities, hyperandrogenism, and polycystic ovaries. The treatment of PCOS focuses on managing symptoms and restoring normal hormonal function. Inositol, a compound that regulates various metabolic processes, has shown promise in improving hormonal and clinical parameters in women with PCOS. Recent research suggests that inositol, particularly in its mio-inositol form, can improve ovulation, regulate menstrual cycles, and reduce testosterone levels. Furthermore, an improvement in insulin resistance, a common factor in PCOS, has been observed. Therefore, inositol use is an effective therapeutic alternative, especially for women seeking to conceive or control symptoms of this condition.
