Presentación de un paciente con diagnóstico de filariasis linfática

Abstract

Se presentó un paciente de tres años de edad atendido por el Servicio de Pediatría del Hospital Nacional Guido Valadares de Timor Leste con cuadro clínico correspondiente con una filariasis linfática. Se realizó una revisión del tema y se establecieron puntos de coincidencia, así como también se actualizó la terapéutica y las medidas de prevención de la enfermedad. Es fundamental prevenir la enfermedad en esta zona geográfica y aplicar tratamiento precoz en los enfermos para evitar las secuelas.

ABSTRACT

A 3-year-old male patient was attended at the Pediatric Services of Guido Valadares National Hospital of Timor Leste with clinical manifestations of lymphatic filariasis. A bibliographical revision on the topic was made and the criteria were established. The therapy, and the preventive measures for the disease were updated.
