COVID-19 en embarazadas

Resumen

El embarazo aumenta el riesgo de la COVID-19 grave. Las gestantes infectadas por el SARS-CoV-2 presentan más complicaciones obstétricas y perinatales que las embarazadas no infectadas. Los objetivos de esta revisión bibliográfica fueron describir los cambios de la gestación que favorecen la infección por el SARS-CoV-2, las manifestaciones clínicas, complicaciones materno-fetales y el papel de la vacunación. Se buscó en:  Google Académico  (https://scholar.google.com.cu), PubMed Central (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc), SciELO  (https://scielo.org/es) e Infomed (http://www.bvscuba.sld.cu/clasificacion-de-revista/revistas-cubanas) con los descriptores COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2 y embarazo/pregnancy. Dentro de las adaptaciones del embarazo que favorecen la infección están los trastornos de la inmunidad innata y adaptativa, los cambios en el sistema respiratorio y la respuesta de la coagulación. Las embarazadas presentan mayor riesgo de enfermedad grave y los síntomas principales de la COVID-19 son fiebre, tos, fatiga, disnea y pueden presentar complicaciones como aborto, cesáreas, parto pretérmino y preeclampsia. La vacunación anti-COVID-19 es un método preventivo eficaz.
